Notes for Visitors
  1. Please respect local residents and do not trespass on private property.
  2. Please respect animal habitats. If you encounter wildlife, observe quietly. Do not pick plants or damage the local ecosystem.
  3. Please keep your distance from cattle.
  4. Where possible, use natural or physical sun protection and insect repellents to minimise environmental pollution.
  5. Observe the principles of “Leave No Trace” in the countryside. This includes leaving no litter, not removing or disturbing natural items, and not creating new hiking trails, in order to preserve the natural environment.
  6. Shui Hau Wan is home to a wide variety of intertidal and benthic organisms. To avoid disturbing the ecosystem, visitors engaging in clam digging should follow the “Clam Digging Guidelines” prepared by WWF, academics, and the villagers of Shui Hau.
